You always hope you won’t get sick or have an emergency when you’re on vacation, but sometimes the inevitable happens.

Knowing what to do if this happens in Disney World can come in handy, which is why we’re excited to share this news. We got a chance to tour the NEW AdventHealth ER near Disney World — come along with us!
AdventHealth recently opened a new Emergency Room at Flamingo Crossings near Disney World — and we got to check it out. The new full-service emergency room is near Animal Kingdom, located to the west of Disney property.

The new ER combines “depictions of natural elements, Disney-inspired designs, and a team of AdventHealth experts to help every patient feel whole.” You can get emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week here!

The moment we stepped into this ER we knew it was a very special place, not like any other ER we’ve seen or heard of. It almost felt like we were at a spa, not a high-stress, high-stakes medical facility.

There are Disney-themed touches with amazing mosaic art and characters throughout the lobby, patient rooms, and even the X-ray and CAT scan rooms.

One of the main goals of this location, besides getting you back to the parks after an injury, is to give control to the patients. While you aren’t able to diagnose or fix yourself, you can provide an experience and atmosphere that is most comfortable for you while you’re there.

Each patient room features a screen and lighting that you can control using the tablet provided to you. You can pick from many different Disney scenes, add calming music, change the color of the room, and even stream from your phone.

Not only is every patient room customizable to your liking but every patient that walks through the door is immediately taken to a room. No waiting to be seen or cared for in the lobby while in pain.

The details are truly remarkable. Nobody wants to go to the emergency room, but this one provides a calm environment with the familiarity of Disney.

You can see scenes from so many underwater movies such as The Little Mermaid, Moana, and Finding Nemo all around.

The location features 24 patient rooms, an OB room in case someone goes into labor, and 2 negative pressure rooms in case of a contagious disease. They have a fully functional lab, but if they need support AdventHealth Celebration (Main Campus) is not far if needed.

It’s not only the patients that are well taken care of but the staff, too! They have a break room that has a very suspicious soft-serve machine (we’re not saying it’s Dole Whip, but it looked a lot like Dole Whip). They even mentioned that in case a patient needs food to go with medicine they will provide it for free to them as well. And the flavors rotate!

We wish we could take you around and show you every nook and cranny of this beautiful healing space, so we’ll leave you with one more fun mosaic mural!

Hopefully, you won’t need any emergency medical care when you’re in Disney World, but it’s comforting to know one isn’t too far away if you do find yourself in need.

This is great. I wish there had been this in 2004 when my son came down with an ear infection and tonsillitis. We were told the closet ER was in Kissimmee. Hope we won’t need it for this trip but it is nice to have one close if we do.
This is awesome news…. had to take my husband to an urgent care 24/7 clinic in Orlando during one of our trips in 2022. They provided great care, but it was the sketchiest looking place on the second floor of a strip mall. And to top it off it was about 4 am and I was a bit fearful for our safety! Payment had to be made before service was received and didn’t accept insurance. Luckily, we had purchased travel insurance which paid us back within 60 days. So nice to have something so close to the Disney bubble.
