So you’re flying to Disney World, and maybe you’ve never flown to Disney World before.

More than likely, you’ll be flying into and out of Orlando International Airport. We’ll warn you now — the airport is HUGE, and it can be a bit stressful. But we’re here to help take any stress we can out of traveling, so we’ve got some tips to share with you about the airport.
Here are the top hacks you need to know if you’re flying into and out of Orlando International Airport.
Download the MCO App
Before your trip, you should download the Orlando International Airport app. This app will help you find your way around the airport and includes maps, guides, and more so that you don’t lose your way. The app will even provide you with turn-by-turn directions if you’re trying to get somewhere specific within the airport.

You’ll also be able to get flight updates, weather updates, and more things you’ll need to stay on top of during your trip.
Get the app for your airline
You’ll also want to make sure you have the app for your airline on your phone. You’ll be able to view your boarding passes, get critical information about your flight (especially if there are delays and cancellations), and in some cases, even track your bags.

Your airline app will also let you keep your boarding pass information handy so you won’t need to keep track of any air travel documents while you travel.
Double-check everything
Both of these apps will help you with our third tip: double-check everything. Even if you’ve got all your flight information memorized, be sure to double-check your airline, your flight time, your gate information, and more. Plus you’ll want to keep double-checking everything.

Why is this so important? Well, flights get delayed and canceled ALL the time and your boarding gate could change. You’ll need to make sure you have the latest details handy in case of these kinds of changes.
Get There Early
Because Orlando International Airport is so busy, you’ll want to get to the airport early when you’re flying out. The general rule of thumb is currently to arrive at least THREE hours before your flight departure time. That might seem like a lot of time, but by the time you get checked in, go through security, and find your gate, you might not have a lot of time left to spare.

But if you DO have time to spare, then at least you don’t have to worry about being rushed, so that’s always something to remember, too. Grab a coffee or a snack and enjoy some people-watching.
Pre-schedule your ride
Whether you’re headed to Disney World from the airport or headed from Disney World TO the airport, make sure your ride situation is already scheduled ahead of time. Book that Mears Connect shuttle before you leave and all you have to do is show up and ride to your destination.

The same goes with rideshare — if you can book a ride in advance, do it. That will be one less thing to worry about when you’re traveling.
Use MCO Reserve
The TSA Security lines at Orlando International Airport can be scary, but you can skip those long lines a few ways. Of course, if you have TSA PreCheck, you can use the dedicated shorter security line. Or you can use MCO Reserve — which is totally free to passengers flying out of the Orlando International Airport.

Basically, it works like this: you sign up before your trip and pick a time you’d like to go through security. Then you go to the MCO Reserve line at that time to get through security quickly. You can reserve your spot up to 72 hours before your flight.
Try these hacks and you’re sure to have a less stressful trip through Orlando International Airport. Happy traveling!
