If you’re a fan of inspirational sports movies like Miracle, Safety, and The Rookie, Disney+ has some news for you!
A new inspirational sports movie is headed to the streaming subscription service next year.
The movie is called Rise and is based on the true-life story of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has won back-to-back NBA Most Valuable Player Awards, making him one of only three other NBA players to have done so. Born in Greece, he also led the Bucks to their first NBA Championship in 2021 since 1971 — he was also named Finals MVP.
Disney+ also released the cast list for the film, which features Uche Agada in the title role.
Rise is set to land on Disney+ in 2022. And we’ll keep you updated when we get more details about the film, so stay tuned.
