Throughout the year, the Disneyland Resort hosts several official and unofficial events that range from fan gatherings to full-blown celebrations. One of the most highly anticipated unofficial events each year is Gay Days, which since 1998 has celebrated LGBT pride in the parks.
Of course, last year Gay Days did not take place due to Disneyland’s extended closures. But according to Orange County Register, the event will return in 2021!
Gay Days will officially take place at Disneyland from September 17th through 19th, 2021. In the past, this unofficial event has included specialty snack and merchandise items available for purchase around the park, as well as trivia, scavenger hunts, and more!
The event has traditionally been held in October each year, but a shift to September has been in the works to reduce conflict with Halloween events taking place in the parks. Gay Days brings approximately 30,000 attendees to Disneyland each year.
We’ll keep an eye out for the return of more unofficial events like Gay Days at the Disneyland Resort in the coming weeks and months!
