Disneyland Experiencing High Traffic Issues Following Reservations Opening

It’s been a big day for guests hoping to visit Disneyland for its reopening!

We’re excited to go BACK!

The day has been filled with park reservations, hotel bookings, and lots of virtual queues. We noticed today that park reservations were already starting to fill up on the park’s opening day for guests with Park Hopper tickets. Now, Disneyland has shared a statement about reservation availability and high demand.

Disneyland is using a Park Pass Reservation System similar to Disney World’s and they’ve now shared a statement on their website discussing the high demand for the park’s reopening.

In their message, they acknowledge the wait times that guests have encountered (like we did) but assure that there is still availability through the reservation system. They instruct guests against refreshing the page when waiting in the queue.

  1. And yet, as of about 10:30 PM there is still availability on opening day for DCA as a starting park.

Not exactly the high demand they were expecting. Really, a lot of people thought all 60 days would comply sell out almost immediately or as quickly as the system would allow, doesn’t seem to be the case

  2. How the heck do you purchase a ticket for Disneyland? After being in the queue for 11 hours once I was finally in the system to purchase tickets there was literally no way to actually purchase. I tried every which way and never found a place to buy tickets?????

  3. I finally got through but found no way to actually purchase tickets. You can’t make a reservation without having a ticket. All call lines go to a recording telling you to call back during regular business hours. And the Disney Vacation Club site is down so I can’t use my VC points to book a room. I expected to wait, but it’s frustrating that I can’t find a way to purchase tickets.
