For TV and movie fans, the best season of the year can be awards season.
And, the 2021 awards season is just getting started and we’re keeping track of what Disney series and films are being recognized. Three films on Disney+ were recently nominated for NAACP Image Awards and today, we learned that more have been nominated for the 2021 Golden Globes.
According to CNN, the list of nominees includes some pretty well-known Disney+ series and films. First up is the two-time nominee, Hamilton. The musical premiered on Disney+ last summer, bringing the hit Broadway musical to televisions around the globe.
And, now six years after its first show appeared on stage, Hamilton has been nominated for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy AND Lin-Manuel Miranda received a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture.
Hamilton isn’t the only Disney nominee for the Golden Globes. The Mandalorian has been nominated for Best Television Series Drama.
The Golden Globes will take place on February 28th on NBC so you can tune in and see which of your quarantine binges wins an award! As always, stay tuned for more Disney news!
