Production On the Rogue One Prequel Series for Disney+ Was “Temporarily Derailed” According to Star Diego Luna

There’s no denying that the global health crisis has had a serious effect on the TV and film industries, with productions coming to a grinding halt and theatrical debuts being pushed back time and time again.

Several Disney films and television series have faced significant delays, which resulted in the live action remake of Mulan to come straight to Disney+ for an added fee. We are now learning of another upcoming Disney+ arrival that has been impacted by the pandemic.

The Guardian reported that the pandemic “temporarily derailed the production” of the unnamed Rogue One prequel, set to be produced as a series for Disney+.

Diego Luna, known for portraying Cassian Andor in the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, commented on how the global health crisis impacted the production schedule, but was keen to point out that “there’s no rush.”

When coming back to production, Luna mentioned how “we have to be cautious and we have to be wise on when and how to go back.”
