Over his 33 seasons in the NFL, Shula accomplished many feats. His most prominent one is perhaps when he led the 1972 Miami Dolphins to a perfect season, the first in NFL History.

Over his NFL career, Shula had a record-setting 347 wins. He would establish the Shula’s Steakhouse chain in 1989 and retire from coaching after the 1995 season.

Shula passed away peacefully in his home according to a statement issued by the Miami Dolphins. Our thoughts go out to his wife, Mary Anne, and his five children, Dave, Donna, Sharon, Anne, and Mike.
