Opening Date for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot Released!

Last week Disney released the long-awaited dates for two upcoming Epcot festivals — the 2019 Food and Wine Festival and the Festival of the Holidays.

Not only did we get these opening dates, we were surprised to learn that the 2019 Food and Wine Festival will begin on the same day as the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, August 29!

Although we learned the dates for Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays — November 29 – December 30 — no details regarding the popular Candlelight Processional were included. Today, however, we found out that the presentation of the story of Christmas with a celebrity narrator will begin the day before the Festival officially starts — on Thanksgiving Day.

The Walt Disney World website indicates that the Candlelight Processional will start on November 28. The event also started on Thanksgiving Day last year… this might be the start of a new tradition!

The Candlelight Processional at Epcot presents the Christmas story told by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by an orchestra and choir. It’s a little too soon to have the list of narrators yet, but we’ll report them as soon as they’re announced.
