Fantasyland Expansion Update

As work continues on the previously announced expansion of Fantasyland, the last day of operation for Mickey’s Toontown Fair will be February 11, 2011. After that date, the following changes will take effect:

· Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and the Disney princesses will move to Town Square in the location currently known as Town Square Exposition Hall in spring 2011. Until that location is ready, they will greet guests throughout Magic Kingdom Park at locations to be determined.

· Tinker Bell will be relocating to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Her other fairy friends will appear later in the spring at Epcot.

· The Walt Disney World Railroad will stay open but the Toontown station will be closed during construction.

Once Mickey’s Toontown Fair has closed, there are a number of other options for guests looking for similar experiences:

· The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farms has a 35″ height requirement. Guests looking for other attractions with low height requirements can still experience the Tomorrowland Speedway, which has a 32″ minimum for accompanied children. The next lowest height requirement is 40″ at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain and Stitch’s Great Escape!

· The Laughin’ Place play area near Splash Mountain is a great alternative to Toon Park. It will continue to be available and is suitable for kids ages 2 through 5.

· Instead of Donald’s Boat, guests may still enjoy a chance to cool off in Adventureland at the leaky tikis near The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

· Balzac (inflatable ball) products will continue to be available from the cart in Tomorrowland located near the Cool Ship.

· The face painting area will close with Mickey’s Toontown Fair. Guests looking for a fun makeover can stop by The Pirates League or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to inquire about availability. Face painting will continue to be available in the other Walt Disney World theme parks.
