  1. Hi to all,

I am looking forward to another 1/2 marathon. There is nothing like running down Main Street USA being cheered on. I’ve participated in many of Disney’s marathons/and various runs, and look forward to many more. It’s such an awesome feeling. This year, it will be extra special since I am running with a purpose. I look forward to joining in, having a great time, as its such a wonderful event, and just being in Disney is the icing on the cake. Happy Running to all.

  2. I was wondering, from someone who has done this race before, how does it affect crowds in the parks, before and after the race weekend? Has anyone been able to race and catch some of the holiday decorations too? Any advice on timing of a vacation? My goal is to run a half marathon when I finish my masters degree(Dec 2010)-and I think Disney is a GREAT idea-but I’m also concerned about how busy it will be overall-we’d have to make this our family vacation too and I can’t deal with the super duper crowds. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Danielle,

Large races such as half-marathons do impact the crowds, especially EPCOT. On race days it’s a good idea to concentrate on the Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios Theme Parks.

Most people come in on Thursday night and leave on Sunday evening so the parks will be a bit crowded from Thursday to Sunday.

Holiday decorations may still be up in early January.

My advice would be to spend Thursday to Thursday for a vacation and to make sure most of the vacation occurs after the race.

    Good luck,

    Mike
