Laura Gilbreath is a native of San Diego, CA. She has been making the trek up Interstate 5 to Disneyland since she was a small child and terrified of talking tikis and hitchhiking ghosts. She and her husband Lee enjoy trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as sailings on the Disney Cruise Line.

Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend Celebrates 2nd Annual Event with Over 20,000 Runners

Last weekend more than 20,000 runners participated in the events of the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend. This year the 5K event took place on Friday night, with the new 10K race in the Saturday morning slot. The Bibbibi-Bobbidi-Boo Challenge medal was awarded to those who completed the 10K and the Disneyland Paris - Val'd-Europe Half Marathon. Next year's Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend is scheduled for September 20-23, 2018.

Updates to the Disney Wonder

AllEars.Net had the opportunity to visit the Disney Wonder while it was in port in San Diego. In September and October of last year the Wonder underwent a dry-dock period in Spain that made significant changes to the kid's spaces, the adult entertainment district and converted the Parrot Cay restaurant into Tiana's Place, in addition to replacing carpet, furniture and other general upkeep. Lee Zimmerman shares his observations during his first chance to see the re-imagined ship.

It’s Haul-O-Ween Time!

The Disneyland Resort has been celebrating Halloween Time for a number of years. Enter John Lasseter, who wanted to bring a Halloween celebration to Cars Land. Radiator Springs became Radiator Screams, and "Haul-O-Ween" rolled off the production line. AllEars.Net's Laura Gilbreath recently had the chance to check it out.

Legendary Disney Animator and Imagineer Francis Xavier ‘X’ Atencio Passes Away at Age 98

Legendary Disney Animator and Imagineer Francis Xavier 'X' Atencio passed away on September 10 at age 98. He began his Disney career in 1938 as an animator, working on films such as Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Mary Poppins. In 1965 he moved to WED Enterprises, where he helped bring to life attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion, including co-writing the iconic "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" and "Grim Grinning Ghosts." He continued to consult with Walt Disney Imagineering after his retirement in 1984, and was named a Disney Legend in 1996. AllEars.Net joins X's family and the entire Disney community in mourning his passing.
