Laura Gilbreath is a native of San Diego, CA. She has been making the trek up Interstate 5 to Disneyland since she was a small child and terrified of talking tikis and hitchhiking ghosts. She and her husband Lee enjoy trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World, as well as sailings on the Disney Cruise Line.

The Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure expands to 24 days in 2018, from Jan. 26 through Feb. 18. Highlights include "Mulan's Lunar New Year Procession", the World of Color pre-show "Hurry Home - Lunar New Year Celebration", live musical performances, and meet-and-greets with Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Mushu, and Mulan, dressed in the Lunar New Year attire. Foods inspired by Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures will be available at three Asian marketplaces, and the Paradise Garden Grill will feature a Lunar New Year menu.

New Disneyland After Dark Event Series Kicks Off January 18 with Celebration of Vintage Disneyland

More details are available on the upcoming "Disneyland After Dark - Throwback Nite" event to be held on Jan. 18, 2018. Tickets are $95; they go on sale to annual passholders on Nov. 30, and to the general public on Dec. 7. The park will be open to party-goers from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests can enter the park at 6 p.m. using their party ticket. Classic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan's Flight, and "it's a small world" will be available, as well as meet and greets with "classic personalities." Entertainment around the park includes a 1960s tribute band, a jazz/swing band, and a DJ. In addition there will be a "song-filled sail" on the Mark Twain as it travels around the Rivers of America. The "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks spectacular returns. Special food and merchandise will also be available. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best 1955- era fashion and pose at some of the special photo locations -- unlimited PhotoPass downloads are included.

Pixar Fest, the biggest Pixar celebration ever to come to Disney Parks, brings guests together to celebrate friendship and beyond beginning April 13, 2018, at the Disneyland Resort. A new fireworks show at Disneyland, "Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular," will celebrate Pixar stories. The "Paint the Night" parade will return to Disney California Adventure.
