Disney Says They Will Provide Paid Sick Time to Cast Members Who Need to Quarantine

As the first group of Custodial Cast Members return to work on May 15, the union who represents over 40,000 Disney World employees announced new protocol in place to keep their members healthy and safe.

The full Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force met today to discuss updates amongst the four working groups, in addition to updates provided by health physicians. In these discussions, we learned about some of the work done between the health physicians and Universal ahead of CityWalk's opening on May 14.

NEWS: Universal Orlando Announces that CityWalk Will Open With Limited Operations on May 14th

Universal Orlando has announced that CityWalk, the shopping and dining district, will reopen with limited operations on May 14. In addition to the limited hours, additional health and safety measures will be put in place, which will require guests and employees to wear face masks and go through temperature screens before entering.

General registration began today for the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, set to take place from January 6th to 10th, 2021, with registration selling out quickly after opening.

Disney World’s Four Seasons Orlando Re-Opens Restaurant With Limited Hours

The Four Seasons Orlando began their temporary closure on March 24. We have confirmed that Plancha, a restaurant in the resort, is open for lunch. Currently, the restaurant is open from 11 AM - 3 PM. Reservations are available to all guests.

Custodial Cast Members Are Called Back to Work Ahead of Disney Springs’ Re-Opening

With Disney Springs set to begin a partial reopening on May 20, Cast Members are beginning to receive calls to return to work. Currently, approximately 120 Custodial Cast Members can begin working as early as this Friday, according to a union representative.

NEWS: Disney World Will Open When They Feel it is “Safe to Do So”, According to Bringing Back Tourism Group

The Orange County Task Force group "Bringing Back Tourism" met today, discussing the importance of major attractions such as Disney World in relation to Central Florida's economy. It was emphasized in this meeting that the theme parks will reopen when they feel it is safe to do so.
