A Frustrating Problem Is Impacting Disney World Lightning Lane Users

If you’ve been struggling to book your Lightning Lanes (skip-the-line reservations) recently, don’t worry — it’s not just you!

The My Disney Experience app can be finicky at best, but lately, it’s been driving us crazy! Consider this your warning — be prepared for the app to have some glitches as you’re booking your Lightning Lane reservations.

When you book a Lightning Lane, you might see a pop-up letting you know that an earlier time is available, but when you click on it, the time isn’t earlier at all!

Here’s an example. When we went to modify our DINOSAUR ride reservation, we originally planned on riding DINOSAUR between 2:10 and 3:10. An earlier time of 10 AM was offered, but when we clicked it, options in the 5 PM and 6 PM range were offered. Uhm, that’s not earlier!

Disney’s time options also change pretty drastically from second to second! We might see a time for 3:00, but then there’s an earlier time for 11:00, and then back to 6:00. The app can be a bit jumpy.

We recommend being a little more patient with the app — especially right now — and taking screenshots of all the Lightning Lanes you officially book. Sometimes, those passes disappear, and things get wonky!

You can also stop by the Guest Relations building near the front of each park or the Guest Experiences team under the blue tents placed throughout the park. They’d happily assist with Lightning Lane questions since they’re the experts!
