NEWS: 'Loki' Writer Joins Next MAJOR Marvel Project

A LOT is going on with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) right now.

Although the Writers’ and Actors’ strike has delayed some Marvel projects, productions are beginning to pick back up. Yes, the most recent movie, The Marvels, didn’t do as well at the box office as hoped, but Marvel still has a string of movies set for future release, including Avengers: Kang Dynasty. Now that movie has a writer.

According to Deadline, that writer is Michael Waldron, and if his name seems familiar, then you might know him as the showrunner and writer of season 1 of Loki, which first introduced the concept of Kang and all his variants. Waldron also was a writer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In addition to Avengers: Kang Dynasty Waldron has already been tapped to write Avengers: Secret Wars, which follows the Kang Dynasty film. Avengers: Kang Dynasty won’t be released until May 1st, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars set to release on May 7th, 2027. Those two films will serve as a finale for the MCU’s Phase 6,

MCU Phase 6 movies that will come before the final two include Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and Blade. Before that, Phase 5 will wrap up with Deadpool 3 and Captain America: Brave New World.
