Well, we got a LOT of announcements during The Walt Disney Company’s Q1 2023 earnings call.

We learned more about the number of Disney+ subscribers, company layoffs that will happen soon, how well the parks are faring, and more. But one of the most important announcements concerned the company’s restructuring. Now, due to that restructuring, a Disney executive will leave the company.
The Walt Disney Company will be structured into three divisions. ESPN will remain as its own division with Jimmy Pitaro still at the helm. Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products will continue with Josh D’Amaro leading the division.

However, there will also be a division for Disney Entertainment, which will be led by Alan Bergman — who was previously the chairman of Disney Studios — and Dana Walden – -who was previously the chairwoman of Disney General Entertainment Content.

Outside of North America, Disney’s media, entertainment, and sports content and operations will still be led by Luke Kang, President Asia Pacific; Jan Koeppen, President EMEA; Diego Lerner, President LATAM; and K Madhavan, President India. They will all report to Bergman, Walden, and Pitaro.

A press release by the Walt Disney Company states, that as a result of the changes, Rebecca Campbell, Chairperson of International Content and Operations, has decided to leave the company. Disney said, “an esteemed leader and longtime industry veteran, Campbell will stay on through June to help with the transition.”

Campbell has been with Disney since 1997, serving in various leadership roles including as Chairperson of International Content and Operations, Chairperson of Direct-to-Consumer and International Operations, President of Disneyland Resort, President of The Walt Disney Company — EMEA, President of ABC-Owned Television Stations, and President and General Manager of 6ABC.
New York Times journalist Brooks Barnes reported that Campbell was “squeezed out” of Disney due to “her international content turf getting downsized and absorbed by other execs.”
