If you love golfing, you’ve probably visited Disney World’s golf courses.

Disney World is home to three golf courses, although one closed recently for a refurbishment. Now we have more details about that refurbishment, which is actually a reimagining of the course.
Earlier this year, Magnolia Golf Course closed for what Disney called a “major renovation project.” Arnold Palmer Golf Management will be working to improve Magnolia Golf Course, reimagining holes 14 through 17. Ken Baker, the head of golf course design at One Club Limited, will oversee the updates.

Here are the changes Disney has planned for the course:
- Hole 14 – Currently a par 5, will become a par 4, with a new green location
- Hole 15 – Currently a par 3, will shift location and become a long par 5, dogleg to the right
- Hole 16 – Will shift location and remain a par 4, but will now become a dogleg to the left
- Hole 17 – Currently a par 4, will become a par 3, with new tee box locations
- Holes 16 and 17 will have a new wooden bridge connecting the two through the forest.
The update will include “new fairway and greenside bunkers engineered to accommodate the shifting hole locations, and a selection of new teeing grounds suited to test each level of player. ”
Disney also released concept art of what the new holes will look like.
Here’s Hole 15…

…Hole 16…

…and Hole 17.

Disney has not yet announced when the updates will be completed or when the course might reopen, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye on it and let you know.
In the meantime, you can still play the Palm Course and the Lake Buena Vista Course, which are both par 72 and 18-hole golf courses. You can also currently play golf at Oak Trail, which is a par 36 course.
You can also play FootGolf at Oak Trail if you want to try something a little different. This is basically a combination of golf and soccer that could be a lot of fun for the whole family.
