Living in today’s world means living with basically a hundred monthly subscriptions!

Okay, well maybe not a hundred, but you get the gist. We’ve got subscriptions to streaming services, gyms, apps, and so many other things that it’s hard to keep track of all of them. And one of the most popular subscriptions out there is about to get more expensive!
Today, CNBC announced that Amazon Prime will be raising the price of its membership fee from $119 to $139 annually. According to the company, they also raised the monthly price of a Prime membership from $12.99 to $14.99.

These changes were announced today along with the company’s fourth-quarter earnings results. New members will see the price change on February 18th, and current members will be billed at the new rate after March 25th. The last time Amazon raised Prime prices was back in 2018.

Amazon Prime gives members access to free two-day shipping on the Amazon website, along with streaming access for exclusive movies and shows in the Prime Video service. As of April 2021, Prime had more than 200 million subscribers worldwide.
