We know that you’ve already been fully invested in Loki with all the hidden details and theories that have been forming. And, we’ve only just watched the first episode!

While you’re might be obsessed with Loki’s big emotional scene or Mobius’ humor, there’s one character who isn’t getting nearly enough hype! But, don’t worry, we’re about to fix that for you!
Whenever Loki first enters the Time Variance Authority’s headquarters, he’s given the run-down on the Sacred Timeline and the Time Keepers that uphold it. The cartoon infomercial is explained by Miss Minutes, a Marvel character who has been around for a LONG time already. And, Comic Book has shared details about the character’s animation sketch that you’re going to want to know as Loki continues its inaugural season!

While Miss Minutes is now voiced by actress Tara Strong, the character has a long history prior to Loki‘s debut. In a Twitter thread shared by @samsummers0, they explained details about the history behind the animation sequence featured at the Time Variance Authority.
If, like me, you were really taken by the animated TVA instructional video in yesterday's #Loki premiere, here's a quick (non-comprehensive!) thread on some of its animation influences pic.twitter.com/Uveeri0ECR

They noted, “If, like me, you were really taken by the animated TVA instructional video in yesterday’s #Loki premiere, here’s a quick (non-comprehensive!) thread on some of its animation influences. One of the biggest seems to be the series of space documentaries Ward Kimball made for Disney’s TV show in the 1950s. It combined graphs and diagrams with simple, angular characters and thick lines, for a consciously ‘modern’ look that didn’t draw attention from the facts.”

They went on to provide additional fun facts, revealing “This ‘Mid-Century Modern’ take on animation is most closely associated with United Productions of America (UPA). Fudget’s Budget (1954) is most reminiscent of the Loki scene, with its mock-educational tone and graph-paper backgrounds. One of the earliest examples of this style is the ‘A Few Quick Facts’ series (1944-45). These were instructional videos made for US military personnel by UPA and other studios. The stripped-back look and use of symbols and diagrams was both cost-effective and easy to understand.”

“Lastly, there’s probably a raft of touchstones for the design of the animated TVA offices, but for me it really evoked the crazy perspectives and angular red paths of Maurice Noble’s designs for the space station in Duck Dodgers (1953),” they finally added.

Of course, it’s no surprise to us that Kate Herron, Loki‘s director, thought all those details were awesome. She shared that the Miss Minutes presentation was made by Titmouse Inc.
This thread is awesome. Our #MissMinutes hand-drawn presentation video in #loki was made by the excellent people at @TitmouseInc , who are behind one of my favorite shows #VentureBros https://t.co/Gf4shh9IMR
