Contributing photographer Jason of disneygeek.com sends us these photos from his trip to the parks on Saturday, December 7, 2013.

Arrived at the Disneyland Resort before park opening this morning. Across from La Brea Bakery/World of Disney a new kiosk is being built.

No signs of what it will be.

First stop of the day Disney California Adventure. In Condor Flats the stage for Minnies Charter Airlines has been removed.

After picking up some Fastpasses and circling DCA crossed the Esplanade and headed to Disneyland. They put some characters up on the train station on the backside of the Candlelight preparations

There were guests already waiting on the benches (which were first come first serve).

The stage looked the same as always.

A flower market has sprung up at Center Street.

I did a quick walk through.

First stop the Jingle Cruise

As we waiting the rain started to come down (weather.com said 9am and it was pretty much dead on!).

The tiger has returned to the ruins.

The gorilla scene has been changed since my last trip.. it now features some Jingle overlay items…

Next up Haunted Mansion Holiday

It has been quite a few weeks since I visited. Almost through the advent calendar now.

The rain was coming down again/still.

A fair number of guests still arriving. Seems they were all putting faith in the weather forecast of it clearing up this afternoon.

2014 Merchandise is out in the stores now.

Hollywood Blvd, still raining..

Found this interesting.. because of the wet pavement it appeared.

The Racers were down.

Seems this was the car that caused the issue.

Today was a candy cane day at DCA. Here they are packaging a batch

Disneyland and DCA each make fresh candy canes on select days throughout the season. They are $12.99 each and no discounts apply. You need to get a wristband at park opening and it will tell you which batch and when to come back to pick it up.

The weather was finally clearing and looking promising now. Just cold.

The Storybook Canal was closed for renovation.

Time for the Holiday Hillbillies. Only a few more weeks to enjoy their show.

My favorite part of the show.. the Country Bears!

Main Street was alive with activity.

Replacing a light for the Candlelight. Wonder if the rain caused a problem.

Blair Underwood out for a walk through.

One of my favorite moments of the show when the lights come up and the trumpets and choir hit that first note!

The guest narrator this evening was Blair Underwood (Sunday is scheduled to be Kurt Russell)

Silent Night

I was not in a good spot for this.. a pole in the distance in my way. Here is a video clip from last year of this segment of the ceremony.

This year the ceremony seemed shorter to me. It clocked in around an hour which is normal according to those that record the entire event. They cut the solitary life section, here is a clip of that from last year.

No Mad T Party Band tonight.. just a DJ on stage.

Closed out my evening with World of Color Winter Dreams. Here are some pictures from the show.

This evening some of the snow flakes floated down on the audience.

As you entered DCA there were flyers announcing the Fun Wheel Challenge game.
