Let’s be honest, air travel can be stressful. I’ve flown over 20 times, and these are the things I will absolutely have on my flight.

Between keeping track of your stuff, staying comfortable, and surviving delays or long flights, it’s all about packing smart. Over the years (and several flights later), I’ve narrowed down a few travel essentials that I now refuse to fly without. And yes, they all happen to be from Amazon, but more importantly, they make flying so much easier.
Whether you’re headed to Orlando for a Disney trip or flying cross-country to visit family, here are five items that will upgrade your travel day, plus a few real-world tips to make the most out of them.
1. Noise-Canceling Headphones
These are a game-changer for flights. The noise cancellation is so good that you’ll forget you’re sitting near the passenger talking way too loud or the plane engine. I use mine to catch up on podcasts, listen to Disney playlists, or just enjoy some peace.

Pro Tip: If you use an iPhone, make sure you turn on “Adaptive Audio” because it automatically adjusts noise control based on your surroundings, so you can still hear the flight attendant, but block out the constant cabin hum. I also keep one earbud in while waiting at the gate so I don’t miss announcements.
Bonus tip for long flights: Download movies or playlists before boarding because, in my experience, in-flight Wi-Fi can be unreliable.
2. Apple AirTag 4-Pack
If you’ve ever waited at baggage claim wondering if your luggage even made the flight, then you need these. I keep one AirTag in my checked bag, one in my carry-on, one in my purse, and one in my stroller bag when traveling with kids. The peace of mind is priceless.

Pro Tip: Before your trip, label your AirTags (like “Suitcase,” “Carry-On,” etc.) in the Find My app. That way, you can instantly tell which item you’re tracking. If you’re connecting flights, open the app during your layover, and you’ll know exactly if your bag made the transfer.
For parents, stick one in a child’s backpack or jacket pocket. It’s a discreet way to keep tabs in busy airports or theme parks.
3. My Owala Water Bottle
This bottle has become my go-to for travel days. It keeps water cold for hours, and the FreeSip lid lets you either sip or swig with no spills, no leaks. Plus, the Disney Princess designs add a fun touch that makes it easy to spot in your bag. I love the locking feature, knowing that it is secure even in my bag.

Pro Tip: Bring it through security empty, then fill it up at a water refill station near your gate. Most airports now have these near restrooms or boarding areas. I also add an electrolyte packet once I’m seated to stay hydrated because airplane air can seriously dehydrate you.
Bonus: Because it’s insulated, you can use it on those long flights, and it’s perfect for staying cool at the parks once you land in Orlando.
4. My Portable Chargers
We all know the pain of watching your phone battery hit 5% mid-flight or while navigating the airport. I have had this happen to me a few too many times before I finally learned to always pack a portable charger in my personal item on flights. These FuelRod chargers are compact, rechargeable, and come in a two-pack, so you can toss one in your personal item and one in your checked bag for backup.

Pro Tip: If you’re heading to Disney World, you can swap these at FuelRod stations in the parks for fully charged ones and completely free if you already own the rods at Disney. That means you’ll never have to worry about losing power while snapping photos, mobile ordering food, or checking wait times.
I also keep one handy during flights to charge both my phone and AirPods using a dual cable. They recharge quickly overnight, so you’re ready to go the next day.
5. Hand Sanitizer
Airplanes aren’t exactly the cleanest places on earth, and after using airport touchscreens, seatbelts, and tray tables, you’ll be glad you packed this. The last thing I want is to get sick on my way to my destination. Touchland sanitizers are compact, quick-drying, and smell amazing, and the Disney designs make them even better.

Pro Tip: Keep one in the seat pocket in front of you (just don’t forget to grab it when you deplane!) and one in your park bag. A quick spritz before snacks or after security screening goes a long way. Because it’s TSA-friendly, you can bring it through airport security with no problem.
In the meantime, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the latest Disney deals, so make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for more!
