Disney Announces MAJOR Executive Shake-Up

Executive changes within The Walt Disney Company don’t happen a LOT, but they do happen occasionally.

For example, in 2026, Bob Iger is set to retire (again), and someone else will be taking over the role as the company’s CEO. Ahead of that, Disney Experiences just named its new EVP and CFO, Michael Moriarty.

On October 14th, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that Michael Moriarty is taking over as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Disney Experiences. Moriarty is taking the role from Kevin Lansberry, who will be retiring in February 2026. Moriarty previously served as the managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Moriarty has almost 20 years of experience in leadership positions with Disney, including time as a former CFO of Walt Disney Imagineering. As President and Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, the resort expanded to include the World of Frozen, which opened in 2024.

“Michael Moriarty brings a deep understanding of our long-term strategy to broaden the reach and impact of Disney Experiences,” D’Amaro said. His global perspective and leadership will help guide us through an exciting chapter of growth, reaching new fans in new places and on new platforms.”

Disney has not yet made an announcement on who Moriarty’s successor will be at Hong Kong Disneyland.
