Universal Orlando Just Announced ANOTHER Ride Closure

Universal Orlando Resort has announced that another ride closure is happening soon. This new announcement is for a ride that will be closing temporarily at the beginning of 2026. If you’re planning a Universal trip for then, be prepared for this closure.

This new ride closure joins a list of several others for the resort. Let’s take a look at what new ride closure was just announced and which other rides will also be closing for refurbishment soon!

Jurassic Park River Adventure

Jurassic Park River Adventure is located in the Jurassic Park area inside Universal Islands of Adventure. It was just recently announced that this ride will be temporarily closing for refurbishment in 2026.

This water ride will be closed from January 5th, 2026, through November 19th, 2026, so essentially the whole year. If you’re hoping to check out this ride, you’ll want to get to Islands of Adventure before January 5th, or you’ll have quite a while to wait.

Other Ride Closures

Here is a list of other ride closures announced for Universal Orlando! These are temporary closures, and luckily, none of them are expected to last as long as Jurassic Park River Adventure’s closure.

Dudley Do-Right’s RipSaw Falls

This Islands of Adventure ride will be closing very soon. From October 6th, 2025, until October 31st, 2025, you won’t be able to enjoy this attraction.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

This popular Harry Potter ride will be closed from November 10th through November 20th, 2025. This ride is also at Universal Islands of Adventure, but you can enjoy other Harry Potter rides at Universal Studios Florida.

Hogwarts Express

The Hogwarts Express, which ferries guests between Diagon Alley (Universal Studios Florida) and Hogsmeade/Hogwarts (Universal Islands of Adventure), will be closed from February 9th, 2026, until February 23rd, 2026.

In the meantime, you can walk between the two parks in order to visit both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. You’ll just need a park-to-park ticket to visit both parks on the same day.
