We Know When You Can Watch ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ at Home!

Whether you are waiting to watch it online or want to watch it again from the comfort of your home, you can watch Mufasa: The Lion King online soon!

Disney officially announced that Mufasa: The Lion King will be available on streaming beginning February 18th, and it will be released on Blu-ray on April 1st. Mufasa was one of Disney’s most anticipated films of the year, and it was released in theatres on December 18th, 2024.

It has grossed over $653 million worldwide and was one of only seven movies released in 2024 that crossed the $650 million milestone, according to Screen Rant. The movie shows us the younger years of the future ruler, Mufasa, as his story is told to Kiara, the lion cub of Simba and Nala, by Timon and Pumbaa.

Barry Jenkins directed the film, and it is a sequel/prequel hybrid to 2019’s massively successful “live-action” adaptation of The Lion King. The film also features songs by award-winning songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda and an original score by Dave Metzger.

Disney World also got in the Mufasa: The Lion King spirit by offering exclusive treats and souvenirs to celebrate the movie’s release. There was a Mufasa Cake Pop, Savory Tanzanian Pie, and more. As well, Annual Passholders were able to pick up an exclusive Mufasa postcard. There was even a Mufasa version of The Tree of Life Awakenings projection show in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Soon, you will be able to watch Mufasa: The Lion King online or purchase a Blu-ray of the movie. It is coming to streaming on February 18th and will be available on Blu-ray on April 1st.
