We hope you’re ready because it’s the season of change at Disneyland Resort!
Sure, the Halloween season has been in full swing for a while now, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still exciting things going on throughout October. Buckle up, because we’re bringing you the biggest changes you need to know about Disneyland this month!
Disney Gallery Reopens
On Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, you’ll find the Disney Gallery. It’s typically where you’ll find Disney-inspired paintings, prints, and more. The Disney Gallery has been closed for refurbishment for a while now, but that has now changed!
According to the Disneyland website, as of October 1st the Disney Gallery is now open for visitors again.
Ride Changes
There are a few ride closures and reopenings happening in October as well, starting with Dumbo the Flying Elephant on October 1st. Thankfully, the ride will only be closed for one day and is scheduled to be open for the remainder of the month.
After about a month-long closure, the Jungle Cruise is scheduled to finally reopen on October 4th. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any potential changes to this.
The Disneyland Railroad has also been closed for a bit, and unfortunately, it looks like that closure will continue throughout the rest of October. We’ll keep an eye out for a potential reopening date.
And lastly, the iconic “it’s a small world” will also remain closed for the rest of the month.
It’s getting some TLC and will reopen with a holiday twist on November 15th!

Gate Construction
Disneyland has embarked on a $4.8 million refurbishment project of the entry gates at the parks. We’ve already seen some of these changes pop up as they’ve been happening in phases, but that doesn’t mean more work isn’t on the way.
In fact, as of October 7th, we should start seeing more gate updates happening at the parks. Hopefully, it doesn’t have any impact on your trip, but we’ll let you know of any changes.
Halloween
Okay, we know you probably knew this one already — but Halloween is happening on October 31st and that means Disneyland will be even spookier than it has been all season long.
Make sure you keep an eye out for any special treats, merchandise, entertainment, and more.
Holiday Decor?!
Okay, we know we just talked about Halloween — but there’s a chance that we could see holiday decor pop up before October is through. Last year, we spotted the first Christmas decorations on October 27th!
