NEWS: Disney's 'Moana 2' Trailer To Be Released TOMORROW

Disney has dropped big TRAILER news we’ve been waiting for!

Moana 2 may be the most highly-anticipated Disney Animation film since Frozen II, and fans have been eagerly awaiting any news about the upcoming sequel. Now, we KNOW when we’ll see a first look at the film.

Disney took to their social media accounts today, May 28th, to share a poster for Moana 2, which combines Maui’s Fish Hook and Moana’s oar into a “2”. Moana herself is visible in the background, along with the film’s November 27th release date. However, the new poster isn’t all the news we got from the post.

While the film is coming out November 27th, you won’t have to wait that long to see the first footage of the film, as a trailer is coming out TOMORROW!

The official synopsis of Moana 2 reads, “After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana journeys to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she has ever faced.”

The film, which originally began development as a Disney+ series before being reworked into a theatrical release in February of 2024, will see Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson return as Moana and Maui respectively. Behind the scenes, the film is written and directed by David G. Derrick Jr. and Mark Mancina, Opetaia Foa’i, Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear will serve as composers and songwriters. Lin Manuel Miranda is not returning for the sequel.

Johnson, who will also reprise his role as Maui in the 2026 live-action adaptation of Moana, also took to X (formerly Twitter) to boast about the film, sharing the poster as well as a message that read in part “Experience the new trailer for Disney’s #Moana2 tomorrow and see the movie only in theaters November 27, 2024!” signed from Maui.
