If you’re a big Pixar fan then you’re going to LOVE this new experience coming to Pittsburg (Or should we say, Pixarburgh?).

Starting on May 25th, you can catch an exclusive Pixar-themed exhibit at the Carnegie Science Center!
The most visited museum in Pittsburgh is letting you step into the world of some of your beloved animated films through The Science Behind Pixar, an exhibition that highlights the science of animation.

With over 50 interactive activities, visitors can replicate the Pixar magic by challenging and enhancing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
The hands-on activities include:
- Creating a stop-motion movie by moving the iconic Pixar lamp across a curved track.
- Exploring a detailed re-creation of a set from A Bug’s Life by controlling cameras and viewing it from different perspectives.
- Utilizing magnetic body parts to create a robot friend for WALL*E.
- Peering into Jessie’s mind from Toy Story 2 while manipulating her facial expressions by using sliders.
- Heading to Ramone’s “House of Body Art” from Cars and virtually change the appearance of a car hood.
- Channeling your inner Mr. Ray from Finding Nemo by directing a school of fish.

The exhibit also includes life-size re-creations of characters such as Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, Dory from Finding Nemo, Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc., Edna Mode from The Incredibles, and WALL*E . These incredible statues are made for selfies so make sure to polish your phone cameras and get ready to strike a pose with your favorite Pixar pals.

The Science Behind Pixar exhibit runs from May 25th through Jan. 5, 2025. You can check out the Carnegie Science Center’s official website for tickets and more info.
