Are you ready for something … divisive?

When you think about eating at Disney World, you’ve got two options: table service or quick service (not including snack carts). Now we might ruffle a few feathers with this, but we want to give you permission to do something you never thought you’d do at Disney World — skip those table service restaurants! Let’s talk about it!
If you ever need help planning your Disney World vacation, we suggest visiting our friends at Mouse Fan Travel! Yes, you heard me right. We’re giving you the green light to say “adios” to those sit-down meals. Let’s dive in!
Skip that table service meal…
Now, don’t get us wrong. Even just saying it (skip the table service meal) sounds strange coming out of our mouths. We TOTALLY get the allure of it. Is there anything more magical than dining in Cinderella Castle? Or more fun than sharing a meal with Mickey and friends? (The answer is no.)

Those experiences are like dreams come true, especially for families. But let’s be real here. Those experiences do come at a cost, and we’re not just talking about the price tag.

Think about it for a second. You have to book your reservation, wait to be seated, order, eat, and then wait some more for the bill to come. Before you know it, half of your day at the park has vanished into thin air.

Sure, the food is fantastic, but is it worth sacrificing all those epic rides and magical moments? (We say, not a chance!)
…In favor of a quick service meal instead
So, consider this to be your permission to do the “unthinkable” and skip those joints. When you do that, you’ll be able to reclaim your time to soak up all the Disney goodness.

Instead of twiddling your thumbs in a restaurant, grab a quick bite at one of the many awesome counter service spots scattered throughout the parks. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed!

In most cases, the food is just as yummy, and there’s zero hassle with reservations or long wait times (especially when you Mobile Order).

Plus, think of the adventures waiting for you! With more time on your hands, you can zip back and forth from ride to ride, catch all the shows and parades, and maybe even score a surprise encounter with your favorite character.

Again, we definitely get it. It feels like we’re breaking a tradition or something, but trust us on this. If you’re concerned about all the time you’d be spending in those sit-down joints, go ahead and give yourself permission to go the path less traveled!

Well, that’s all we have for you at the moment. In the meantime, for more Disney World tips and news, keep following AllEars!

Sorry, but hell no. The quick service food is so terrible, I’d rather spend the hour, hour and a half getting something decent. We did Disneyland last week, yes, different monster. We ate at 3 quick serves, Stagecoach Sidedoor, SmokeJumpers, and Ronto Roasters. Stagecoach was disgusting, and just as bad as Galactic Grill or Pizza Planet. We dined at Carthay Circle, Blue Bayou, Riverbelle, Lamplight Lounge, Plaza Inn Minnie Breakfast, and Carnation Cafe. For Carnation, we had the parade right in front of us, with crossing in front of us so we saw the parade. Riverbelle was the least of the best, but at $9 more than a burger and coke anywhere, a better option. When we arrived, had buddy get cereal, fruit, granola bars, etc., and we ate that on the way in. Grabbed a hot dog here, a churro there, etc., but the quality of quick service is so bad, it’s not worth the pick a time slot to pick the slop up, or wait in a long line to get it served, fight for a table, have someone bump into you every minute eating, and try to wolf down semi warm food. When I did WDW in 2021, I didn’t get all the reservations I wanted, but avoid a lot of the quick serve disasters eating at the hotels. The number one rule for either park is give yourself time. We did 5 days at Disneyland, and had both DCA and DL done in a day each. WDW, you need 10, and I did ten and missed nothing, took my time, and didn’t run around like a chicken with my head cut off.
