Star Wars fans, you’re going to want to hear this news!
If you’re a fan of the original Star Wars saga, then you will really like this news. We know there is some contention between the old and new Star Wars movies, but when they bring the old characters back for new projects, fans tend to get really excited! And that’s what we’re here to tell you about, today. An old character is being featured in a new way.
The fifth movie of the Star Wars saga, The Empire Strikes Back, brought us Lando Calrissian, the smooth-talking smuggler who betrayed then helped Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.
We then see him return in Episode VI and several of the new movies.
There had been talks by Disney of premiering an all-new Lando television series on Disney+ just as we’ve seen with shows like The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka.
We had heard that Donald and Stephen Glover have been picked to take over the Lando series, but now, according to Variety, it’s been confirmed that this will no longer be a television series. It is going to be a MOVIE! That’s right, we are getting a whole, full-length Lando movie!
Donald Glover had played Lando Calrissian in the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story. Donald has said, “Lando is definitely somebody I like to hang out with.” He talked about Lando’s charm and personality in an interview stating, “Lando is charm incarnate. He’s kind of a maverick, which I don’t think there’s a lot of anymore. It’s hard to be the smooth talker nowadays. Where’s the line? That’s also where the danger is. How close can you get without tripping over it?”
We can’t wait to see this charismatic charm grace us on the big screen. Whether you are young, old, a fan of the old movies, or a fan of the new ones, we think we all have to agree that this could be an epic movie.
