NEWS: Getting Tickets for Disney's Oogie Boogie Bash Just Got More Complicated

Disney has hit some major issues with ticket sales for a popular Halloween event.

Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed event that takes place during the Halloween season at Disney California Adventure Park. Tickets for the event can often sell out FAST. In fact, pre-sale tickets that were made available for Magic Key Holders sold out pretty quickly. It’s likely that many fans were eagerly waiting on their computers/phones when tickets went on sale to the public on June 29th — but a major issue has complicated the process.

Earlier in the day on June 29th, we joined the virtual queue for Oogie Boogie Bash tickets and were eventually met with a screen warning us about a pause in ticket sales. Later, the message was updated to note that a technical issue had caused sales to be paused and the team was working on fixing it.

Some guests were able to get through (sometimes by using other browsers) to buy their tickets, but it didn’t work for everyone. And now it seems things have gotten MORE complicated.

When we visited the Oogie Boogie Bash page later in the evening on June 29th, we were met with an updated message indicating that technical issues had impacted sales and that all sales would be paused while Disney addresses those problems.

When will sales resume? Well, it seems like it’ll be a WHILE. According to the Oogie Boogie Bash website, guests can return to the webpage on Thursday, July 6th — next week — at 9AM PT for an update. Disney has said that this update may include the date and time at which new sales will resume.

Their message notes that they are committed to “providing advance notice prior to activating new sales and strive to make the process as smooth as possible.” If you were one of the lucky ones that were able to complete a ticket purchase, don’t stress — Disney has said that all completed ticket purchases will be honored.
