This NEW Theme Park Dark Ride Serves an 8-Course Meal

We here at All Ears think of EPCOT as the quintessential theme park for foodies — with all of its international eateries, and its four festivals that put food and drink front and center.

But a German theme park has combined a dark ride WITH food, and we’re … setting up our Google Flight alerts for a flight to Frankfurt right now!

Europa-Park has just opened a new dark ride/dining experience called Eatrenalin (sounds like Eat + Adrenaline).

Is it a restaurant? Is it a ride? It’s both. No, really! Guests are seated in ride vehicles — called floating chairs — that are essentially a dining station with a chair, table and side table.

During the 100-minute experience, diners are served eight courses in different settings while moving from room to room — experiencing everything from floating in the ocean to blasting off into space in their floating chairs.

While Eatrenalin has not released specific descriptions of its menu items, it does describe the “tastes” you will experience in each room.

For example, one of the courses — Umami — includes Sashimi and grapefruit, Nigiri with toasted peppers, Dim Sum, and Chawanmushi – Porcini Mushroom – Umeboshi.

And the dinner is brought to its conclusion with dessert, of course. The Incarnation room’s service includes tastes of Tahitian vanilla, Chambord , and Cashew.

At the end of this 100-minute culinary ride, guests are deposited in a bar where they can enjoy a nightcap if they choose.

The price for this ride/dinner experience starts at about $200 per person in U.S. Dollars. Packages that include wine or champagne with each course are available at higher price points.

Eatrenalin can serve 16 guests at one time, and can accommodate up to 192 diners each evening. And don’t panic if you aren’t headed to Germany anytime soon — the owners of this concept say they plan to expand to “the metropolises of the world.”
