Disney fans know the name Bob Iger.
Bob Iger has served several roles at the Walt Disney Company, including the role of CEO and later, Executive Chairman for the Board of Directors. Recently Iger announced his plans for retirement at the end of 2021 along with his replacement, and now it seems like he’s going back to his roots with a special appearance in Los Angeles yesterday!
As reported by The New York Times, Bob Iger’s career began in the network news industry, with a year of weather reporting in 1973 for a cable station in Ithaca, N.Y. In his 2019 book, The Ride of a Lifetime, Iger wrote that this experience in “mediocrity” actually led to him choosing a new career path. The last time he served as a weatherman was when he was 23 years old.
Years later, Bob Iger returned to his weather roots with a special appearance on KABC Los Angeles early yesterday morning! Iger reported on the upcoming chilly LA weekend as he took the place of the usual weather reporter, Leslie Lopez. After his report, Leslie Sykes, the morning news anchor, and Lopez exclaimed to Iger, “You did great!”
