Fans of The Muppets will have a lot to look forward to next week!

In addition to all five seasons of The Muppet Show coming to Disney+ on February 19th, D23 will be hosting not one, not three, but TWO special events next week as well to celebrate some of the franchise’s most iconic films and moments in Muppet history!
First up is a 25th Anniversary watch party of Muppet Treasure Island! The watch party will take place on Tuesday, February 16th at 7PM EST/4PM PST. You can follow along using #D23MuppetMayhem as you stream the movie on Disney+!

The watch party will be accompanied by a special behind-the-scenes look at the making of Muppet Treasure Island. D23 shared on their website, “Join Director Brian Henson, Puppeteers Dave Goelzand and Bill Barretta, Jim Hawkins actor Kevin Bishop, and host Leigh Slaughter, Vice President of Muppets Studio, as they share stories about bringing Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate tale to the screen in the most Muppetational way! ” The video will be available to view after 3PM EST/12PM PST on February 16th on D23’s website along with their YouTube and Facebook pages.

Later next week is a general member event called A Muppetational Legacy that will air on Thursday, February 18th, 2021, at 7PM EST/4PM PST. You can check it out on D23’s website, as well as their YouTube and Facebook pages!

According to D23, “Host Leigh Slaughter(Vice President, Muppets Studio) is joined by legendary Bill Barretta (Puppeteer, Pepe, Rowlf, Swedish Chef), Dave Goelz (Puppeteer, Gonzo, Bunsen Honeydew, Waldorf), Kevin Bishop (actor, Jim Hawkins), and Brian Henson (Puppeteer, Director, Producer, Chairman of The Jim Henson Company) for a fun, wide-ranging conversation that looks back at Disney Legend Jim Henson and the long and successful collaboration between The Muppets and Disney.”

Be sure to tune into these two D23 member events next week! And we’ll all set our alarms for February 19th to stream The Muppet Show on Disney+!
