NEWS! Los Angeles County Residents Receive Notifications for New “Safe-at-Home” Mandate

Los Angeles, California is under a new “stay-home” mandate to reduce the spread of illnesses.

The mandate was recently upgraded from the previous restrictions. The update now includes stricter curfews in high-risk counties while residents should only leave the house for essential activities. According to KTLA News, the mandate was updated on a public order posted on the mayor’s website while emails and text alerts were sent via the NotifyLA system.

The mayor’s deputy press secretary, Harrison Wollman, stated that the public order and alerts were only notifications of the update. No new restrictions have been applied since the “safe-at-home” mandate was implemented. He stated, “The two orders are identical, and the process of publishing the official document on our website is a formality that occurs each time the order is revised.”

Mayor Eric Garcetti stated in a briefing on Wednesday that “It’s time to hunker down. It’s time to cancel everything. And if it isn’t essential, don’t do it.” You can read the new order and restrictions on the Los Angeles Public Health website here.

The Los Angeles restrictions do not affect Disneyland Resort directly as the theme park is located in another county. It may affect Universal Studios Hollywood in the future, but no official updates have been given. We’ll keep you updated if the restrictions are extended to counties outside of the Los Angeles area as well.
