While Marvel films like Black Widow may have seen their release dates delayed this year, there’s still plenty of superhero movies to look forward to!
When Disney acquired 20th Century Studios, they also gained a new IP — Deadpool, the wise-cracking X-Men. And now the superhero franchise, which is under the Disney portfolio of films, is getting a third film!
According to Deadline, writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin have been tapped to write the screenplay for Deadpool 3, with star Ryan Reynolds set to reprise his role as Deadpool in sequel.
Deadline wrote that “Writer meetings have been taking place over the past month with Reynolds recently meeting with a handful of writers to hear their pitch for the next installment.”
Ultimately, both the studio and Reynolds chose the screenwriting sisters for the production, which is still in early development.
While details are still scarce on this third film in the franchise, we’ll continue to keep you updated with the latest developments.
