With the temporary closure of many nationwide movie theaters, Disney had made the decision to release Onward for purchase on digital platforms early.
VERY early, actually. You’ll be able to buy a digital release of the film starting TONIGHT!
You’ll be able to purchase Onward on digital download and Movies Anywhere beginning tonight at 8 PM EST, with the flick scheduled for a Disney+ release not long after on April 3rd.
In a statement from the director and the producer, the Onward team said, “While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes.”
