The 2018 Pop Warner Super Bowl is now under way at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This is the finale of the organization’s 90th football season.
Sixty-four teams from around the nation are participating in the event, held annual by the Pop Warner organization, which has youth athletes with the opportunity to play, learn and grow from the sport for nearly a century.
National champions will be crowned in five divisions based on age and weight – Jr. Pee Wee (ages 8-11), Pee Wee (ages 9-12), Jr. Varsity (ages 10-13), Varsity (ages 12-15) and Unlimited (11-14, 105-lb. minimum). Teams advanced to the Pop Warner Super Bowl by winning their respective league and regional championships. Each team is guaranteed two games at the Super Bowl, with a National Champion crowned in each age-weight division and competition level.
Six teams from South Florida and one from Central Florida qualified for the Pop Warner Super Bowl championship this year. The Ocoee Bulldogs – Central Florida’s lone representative in this year’s championship – face Blackhawks AC in Division I Junior Varsity action Sunday, Dec. 2, at 1 p.m.
Cheer and dance teams competing in the Pop Warner National Cheer & Dance Championships are also at ESPN Wide World of Sports this week. More than 400 teams will be competing over a five-day span. Competitions take place at HP Field House. Cheer & Dance Squads compete in four different age ranges (Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Varsity & Varsity), among three group sizes (Small, Medium & Large), and eight YCADA Divisions (PW1, PW2, PW3 & PW4). The Dance teams compete in two competition categories (YCADA Pom Performance and Theme Dance).
You can purchase a single-day admission ticket for these events for $18.50 (ages 10+) or $13.50 (ages 3-9), or a length-of-tournament event pass for $55.50 (ages 10+) or $40.50 (ages 3-9). Parking is available in the main parking lot at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
If you’re not able to make it in person, select games will be streamed live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App. There will be 24 games shown live throughout the week. All Division I and Division II Super Bowl games on Field 17 will be streamed Live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App.
