“O Canada!” in Disney’s Epcot Closing Soon for Refurbishment

During the craze of the 2019 International Food and Wine information that was released yesterday, Disney dropped in a reference to the “O Canada!” refurbishment that was mentioned earlier in the year.

The 14-minute film, hosted by comic actor Martin Short, shows off the beauty of Canada while exploring its landscapes, cities, and buildings. It has been running in Epcot’s Canada pavilion since 2007.

Now, the film will be “refreshed” with new footage along with a projection-system upgrade that is meant to visually enhance the experience.

WDWMagic along with a few other websites have mentioned an August 1 closing date, though Disney has not released any info and the official Disney World website does not indicate a closing date yet.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, however, the O Canada! theater will be closed during the Food and Wine Festival. While all of the behind-the-scenes work takes place, it will be transformed into a new Festival destination where guests can relax and cool off.

The new Appleseed Orchard Marketplace will be located near the entrance of Le Cellier restaurant and will serve craft brews, ciders, wines, and light bites.
