Grand Floridian Resort’s 5th Annual Easter Egg Display
Posted onThe 5th Annual Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Easter egg display is currently under way.
Executive Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has been designing and hand-painting Easter eggs for 20 years. Each egg is ornamented with edible products, such as modeling chocolate, fondant, sugar floral royal icing, colored cocoa butter and sculpted sugar art pieces. Herbitschek and his dedicated team spent more than three weeks creating these edible works of art. The hollow chocolate eggs weigh 9-12 pounds and stand 16-20 inches tall. Featured this year are eggs representing: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Fox and the Hound, Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, Tangled's Rapunzel and Flynn, Lady and the Tramp, Robin Hood, Mulan, Stitch, Toy Story, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and, of course, Frozen. We have a video overview of these beautiful works of art, on display through April 4, 2016.

Under the guidance of Master pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek, the pastry team at the Grand hand-paints the enormous eggs (16 to 20 inches tall) with tinted cocoa butter to amazing themes - the Frozen egg is sure to be a big hit this year. Look for eggs telling the stories of The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Lady and the Tramp, all created with modeling chocolate, fondant, sculpted sugar and royal icing. New “Senses” Spa Opens at the Grand Floridian Resort
Posted onThe fully remodeled spa, now owned and operated by Disney, is set to open December 17. Imagineers blended Grand Floridian turn-of-the-century elegance with modern touches - plus a dash of Disney whimsy.
The centerpiece of the spa's lobby is an original mural reflecting old Florida landscape and nature. Glass mosaic tiles in the Jacuzzi rooms further enhance the elegance and sophistication of the spa. All the senses are engaged in an ultimate relaxation experience - flavorful and soothing elixirs, color variations in lighting and orchestral music harmonize with the treatment selected.
