“Rivers of Light” Nighttime Show Slated for Animal Kingdom

As announced at a media event on Friday, May 2, all-new entertainment experiences, including a new nighttime spectacular, are among the exciting projects coming in the years ahead as Disney's Animal Kingdom begins the largest expansion in park history. "Rivers of Light" promises to be an innovative show unlike anything ever seen in Disney Parks, combining live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery. The show will magically come to life on the broad, natural stage of the Discovery River, between Discovery Island and Expedition Everest. No estimated date was given for this new evening entertainment.

A New After-Dark Experience Treats Epcot Guests to One More Bite of Fun

A new experience at Epcot, the IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party, began accepting reservations Wednesday, March 12, 2014. The party features the opportunity to sample desserts from around the world paired with international sparkling wines, while enjoying IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth fireworks from the vantage point of World Showcase Plaza. The first party will be held 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15. Parties will subsequently be held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Prices are $49 per adult (ages 10 and up); $29 per child (ages 3-9). The price includes tax and 18 percent gratuity. New Interactive Glow With the Show Mickey Ear Hats Let Guests Shine During After-Dark Spectaculars at Walt Disney World Resort

Guests of the Walt Disney World Resort will light the night thanks to new Glow with the Show Ear hats that will magically change colors in sync with fireworks, shows and each other at Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Fun interactive versions of the famous Mickey Ear hats will debut on Oct. 15 during the 15th anniversary of Fantasmic!, the nighttime spectacular at Disney's Hollywood Studios. And beginning Oct. 19, guests will be able to experience the Wishes fireworks extravaganza at Magic Kingdom with the new Glow with the Show Ear hats. And during the holiday season guests can don their hats and "glow" with Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and at Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks display and Celebrate the Magic, the nighttime projection show at Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.
