Absolutely loved using Genie+. We are a family of 6 so it wasn’t cheap but worth every penny! We only bought it for MK and HS but we got to ride almost everything each day we used it.

Pros:

Pretty simple to use and makes it possible to get more things done.

Cons:

Sometimes it felt like we were waiting around to either get into the Lightening Lane or make our next reservation. Also it can add up with larger groups.

Ahh Genie+, I strategically planned my days outside of Hollywood Studios...I knew I would need it for that park and I thought it would make my day easier to plan -- after all was done, I am satisfied with what I decided, we saved plenty of time with our LL selections...I would probably get Genie+ again for Hollywood Studios during this time of year. Overall I don't recommend Genie+ for most of the parks, just MK and HS.

Pros:

Paying for saving time and a decent amount of return time to make it to the experiences.

Cons:

Paying to save time, with a larger party I think I would have struggled a lot this day...I miss Fast Passes.

Genie plus

Pros:

None

Cons:

We hated Genie plus so much. We are experienced Disney veterans and have always loved it we waited in line to get things fixed more than I have in the 25 other visit to put together. Was absolutely awful and didn’t work

I know there’s some heat in this area but seriously it’s not that bad. Just like free Genie, Genie+ has its quirks. If you wait until it’s your park day to even introduce yourself to free Genie, Genie+ is going to be even harder to navigate. All Genie+ adds it that ability to immediately book your LL (Lightning Lane) choices from the list of available attractions. I liked making my first choice at 7am and honestly having that 120 minute rule pop up, or just having a longer wait between selections made it easier to slow down during my busy park day, grab a snack, soak up the ambiance and not feel so stressed. I’m thankful I used it on my last trip and I will definitely use it again.

Pros:

I honestly liked the thrill of snatching LL choices when they were available. And it was also fun to tap in to an attraction and not know where you were going next.

Cons:

Not being able to modify those LL choices. Seeing an earlier time slip away because of the extra button clicks is excruciating!

Personally, our family has LOVED the new Genie+ system. There is definitely a learning curve, but I feel there in enough information out there for park goers to prepare themselves to use it properly. By familiarizing ourselves before hand, we were able to get SO MUCH MORE from our last trip than any other we have taken. We truly left riding and experiencing everything we wanted with little to no time wasted waiting.

Pros:

Helps plan in advance and no dead time in lines. We were able to see shows and experience the nature trails waiting for our next LL selection versus standing in line.

Cons:

Can be expensive for large parties.

I feel Disney plus made my trip a bit more stressful. I don’t like the idea of racing to try and get times for rides and constantly on my phone. I also feel paying for this service with a chance of not being able to use it on certain rides is really unfair. If we now have to pay we should be able to ride everything using the service. I feel it should be more care free and let you ride at your own leisure.

Pros:

Don’t mind the service being in an app

Cons:

Should be free or less about time and just let you ride whenever you please.

We absolutely LOVED genie+! We waited no more than 5 minutes for anything our entire 6 days of using it. We never rope dropped and took our time getting to the park every morning. With 4 adults and one 4.5 year old it was nice not being rushed.
I would 100% suggest Genie+ if you have young kids. We walked on most rides and it kept our son from having a meltdown from waiting in lines. We were able to ride every ride he was tall enough to get on in Magic Kingdom in under 3 hours. It was easy to book passes, but some rides did book extremely fast. We thought it was worth every penny and helped us have a stress free vacation.

Pros:

Rode twice as many rides as our last trip. Kept our day going smoothly

Cons:

Didn't get any personalized suggestions based on our interests Some rides booked way faster than we expected.

Used Genie+ at all parks, except Animal Kingdom in November ( except for the "fancy rides"), and id do it again. I might not do it in Epcot as it wasnt really needed but was happy we did it.

Pros:

Shorter wait times, didn't wait more than 30mins for amy ride

Cons:

Could sell out fast

We purchased Genie+ on a day where we started out in Hollywood Studios and then we’re hopping to Epcot in the afternoon. In this instance, it was not very useful in HS, but may have been more so if we had planned on staying until close. We were able to grab a 10:25 for Toy Story Mania, and by the time we checked in for that, everything else was booking into the mid afternoon times. It was a busy day, though. Even Alien Swirling Sauces had an 85 minute standby at lunch time. Once we hopped to Epcot around 3:30, it was much more useful. We snagged a time for just about every ride except didn’t pay attention to whether or not Test Track was available since we weren’t that interested in going on it.

Pros:

Was great in Epcot, standby waits weren’t terribly long, but we walked right on to all we wanted to do since we had already paid for it.

Cons:

Unless you plan on staying in Hollywood Studios until evening, it was a waste of money for that park.

Pros:

can get you on rides faster can do more things while waiting for your time to ride

Cons:
