So I had been doing a bit of research on the best rides at the park because that’s stuff I like to do. No spoilers or anything, just a lot of rankings and maybe some blurbs about random netizens’ experience. This ride, “Fast and Furious Supercharged,” was CONSISTENTLY at the very BOTTOM of every. single. list. I read a little about it cause I was curious and the overwhelming majority said stuff like it was boring and their head hurt a bit or it was claustrophobic and generic bad ride stuff like that. My mom has liked the film series for a while so she suggested it after we had gotten out of Diagon Alley. It was very close to where we were at the time. I vaguely remembered the abysmal reviews, so I mentioned it to my mom and she waved me off saying that it couldn’t be THAT bad. When I say that I couldn’t hear out of my right ear for a good twenty minutes AFTER I GOT OFF this ride… it was THAT bad and WORSE.
There was basically no line my fam of 5 got on extremely fast. Now I know why. I’m pretty sure that the Universal uses this ride to thin the crowds. People are so absolutely wrecked from this ride that they have to PHYSICALLY LEAVE to recover back at their hotel. But anyways, we got into this room and a pre-show thing started. Basically there was a staff member on a stage and a pre-recorded video of Ludacris or someone (my brain has tried to block the whole experience out) said that everyone was getting on a “party bus???” (HEAVY air-quotes) because someone won another car???? The plot was very non-existent. Then everyone was corralled into another room with a bunch of strangers where we watched basically the same thing over again with a new staff member. It was so sad because they were trying to get everyone all hyped for this “party bus” but everyone just seemed very confused.
Then some doors opened and we got in the very short actual queue line. From that line, we could see the foretold “party bus.” The thing was bright purple with a back-to-the-future style door and neon lights. As we approached, I looked up more detailed reviews and ran into this one:

However, we proceeded. We got on the bus. Biggest mistake of my life. I don’t even know how to begin to describe the garbage that occurred on this ride, but I’ll describe what I remember. Along with some of the worst voice acting I have ever heard in my life and a side of Ludacris telling everyone on the bus to put their phones away eight million times (I have never been on a ride with that much anger towards phones. I would bet money that it was because the script writers don’t want it to get out how abysmal this ride is), there were also fog cannons. Awful, terrible, LITERALLY DEAFENING FOG CANNONS. These cannons were 100x louder than the ACTUAL GUNSHOTS emitting from Dwayne the Rock Johnson’s machine gun as he absolutely obliterated everyone in sight. I COULD NOT HEAR for an EXTENDED amount of time after this ride. And these demonic cannons went off not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES. THREE TIMES all five of my senses were ASSAULTED. It was awful. Don’t even ask about the plot. Was there one? I’m not sure. All I saw was blurry projections of explosions and Vin Diesel hanging from a helicopter screaming something. It wasn’t like the ride was particularly exciting either. The bus was NOT FAST and EVERYONE WAS FURIOUS. My mother and I were laughing hysterically by the end of the ride because the other option was sobbing uncontrollably. Everyone else on the bus kept staring at us because they had no idea how something so tragic could warrant such a response. I’m not even sure. I have been forever changed by this ride.

Pros:

It ended (eventually)

Cons:

Absolutely everything about this abysmal excuse for a ride.

Things I’d rather do than ride this ride:
Ride nothing at all
Wait in line at the DMV
Get a cavity filled
Sit in stand still traffic
Spend spring break in North Korea
Listen to 3 awful songs on loop- oh wait that is part of this garbage ride….
This ride quite literally is the worst thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. Save yourselves. It’s too late for me. I had never ridden this ride before so I ignorantly waited AN HOUR only to ride the worst ride ever created. Was there a plot? Who knows. You’ll be too busy plugging your ears in anticipation for the next DEAFENING blast of fog that will shoot out from the front of the “party bus” yes you read that correctly. In a FAST AND FURIOUS ride you will be riding a party bus at an astounding .00001 miles per hour while something happens on the blurry screen. What is happening on the screen you ask? Heck if I know because I was sitting in the middle of the row and couldn’t see anything. I think I heard Dwayne Johnson? Could have been a hallucination as my brain was trying to disassociate from what was happening around me. When I tell you every person on the ride looked like they had just been through the most tragic event of their lives… not a single smile was had. Seriously do ANYTHING ELSE. I understand you are looking into riding it because the wait times of other rides are really long but trust- waiting in line for something else will be more fun.

Pros:

The rude people in front of us had to ride it too

Cons:

I may be deaf now, I waited an hour for that, the live actors in the line were absolutely terrible and looked like they wanted to die, what was the plot?

I love this ride and I'm just trying to boost the score up haha. It makes no sense and those are the best rides. It brings me back to early 2000s and I'm here for it

Pros:

It's seated and the pre-shows are fun. Cast members do a great job

Cons:

none, I said what I said

not the best but I had a lot of fun and good memories. When I was younger, I rode this and was so scared. I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, our car was flying in the air! That nostalgia alone makes it worth it for me.

Pros:

nostalgia

Cons:

its kinda annoying with the vr

If you’re not in The Family you won’t like this ride. Luckily for me I’m in The Family so thought the comedy aspect of this ride brought it to heights unseen by non family members.

Pros:

The Family Comments

Cons:

Bad technology

Dont waste your time with this excuse of a ride. By far the worst ride of universal. This is a 3D simulator ride, where you sit in a truck with screens all around you to simulate movement. there are several rides at universal that use this effect, but this one did it by far the worst. the 3D was completely unconvincing, because everything was completely flat. This ride was explosion after explosion, with so much going on that you couldnt actually focus on anything. I didnt feel like i was moving at all, which is the intended effect with these simulator rides and something all the others do perfectly. so aside from the 3D effect being entirely underwhelming, this ride also OBLITERATES your eardrums. the smoke emitters are the loudest thing in the entire park, even louder than the REAL GUNSHOTS in the bourne show. i think the cherry on top for my ride experience was that at the end, the video on the tv screens in our truck was COMPLETELY MUTED. so we could see someones lips moving but couldnt make out ahat he was saying at all. so aside from this ride being total garbage, is it worth just queueing up for it and doing it for the sake of it? No. The queue is long and boring, with 2 long and boring videos to set the story. these felt like unskippable ads on youtube, but each one was 3 minutes long. look, ive said enough. skip this ride, no part of it is in any way worth it.

Pros:

it ended. (eventually)

Cons:

the entire thing

Too much Furious not enough Fast

Pros:

The queue is cool, there are some cool tuner cars.

Cons:

The ride itself was pretty boring and disappointing. You just sit on a bus that tilts back and forth while watching projections of Dwayne the rock Johnson shooting people.

This ride is so awful. The ride it's self has bad animation and it's boring. And that's ignoring that it's so loud my ears were ringing and I had a headache after. The queue is bad and theres music that seems like the ride is hype, but no. Lame and loud

Pros:

I didn't have to additionally wait a while to ride. It doesn't make you too motion sick.

Cons:

The volume and storyline
