3 Things We’re Begging You to Quit Packing for Your Disney World Hotel Room

If you’re heading to Disney World and packing for your hotel, there are some things you need to STOP bringing with you.

Coronado Springs Resort

We’ve covered packing lists over and over here at AllEars, but what about the things you shouldn’t pack? There are several items that are against the rules for Disney resorts or frowned upon, and today, we’re sharing the top three.

Your Recreational Wheels

If you’re heading to Disney World for a relaxing vacation, you should know that you can’t bring along your wheeled recreation items. What does that mean? Things like scooters, skateboards, e-bikes, bicycles, hoverboards, rollerskates, and more are no-gos.

Bike Barn at Fort Wilderness

At some of the larger Disney World resorts, you can rent bikes, and some spots have surrey bikes for the whole family to enjoy. But when it comes to resorts that are wheel-friendly, really, your only option is Fort Wilderness Campground. (Though, of course, strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility devices are welcome.)

Fireworks

If you’re visiting during the 4th of July or New Year’s, you might be tempted to bring some small fireworks or sparklers. That is NOT allowed. You cannot bring anything fireworks-related to your Disney World Resort.

Fourth of July Fireworks

The good news is that there are nightly fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios, and you can spot them from some of the hotels around property. But in general, you need to stay away from packing anything that has an open flame in Disney World.

Drones

Another popular gadget that is not allowed in Disney World is drones. You may think it would be fun to film your Disney trip from up above, but you’ll get pulled by security SO fast.

Drones are banned from the resorts and the parks, as well as everywhere else on property, so make sure to leave them at home!

Things You SHOULD Pack

But what about the things you SHOULD pack? We’re balancing this list out with three must-haves for your Disney hotel room. Starting out, we’ve got the Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine. We LOVE this thing!

Dreamegg White Noise Machine

It’s compact and easy to travel with, and has 16 different sound modes with volume control and a rechargeable battery. You can keep it in your room or put it in the stroller in the parks to make naptime a breeze. It’s very helpful to keep your room serene when you’re staying in a noisy hotel.

Next up, we have the Kaizen Kreations MultiCharger for MagicBands. This has been a lifesaver when traveling with multiple people in one hotel room, each with their own set of devices that need to charge.

MultiCharger for MagicBand+

It works with your MagicBand+, phone cords, or anything else that uses a USB charger. It’s portable and slim, so it’s easy to pack in your bag without taking up space.

Finally, we have the Flat Plug Power Strip, which is another great device for saving space and maximizing outlets. This adds three outlets and four USB ports with just one outlet plug-in.

Flat Plug Power Strip

Many older Disney World hotel rooms don’t have quite enough outlets available, and this solves that problem! You can use it to plug in your tech or to use something like a box fan or sound machine.

  1. Something else to pack is a bed step for the incredibly tall beds being installed in the newly renovated rooms. While they’re handy for storing luggage underneath the bed, it raises the height so that it makes it hard for some of us shorter people to climb into bed.
