Wow! It’s a big day for all of us who travel through the airport!

TSA just changed a huge policy that has excited us to go on our next flight.
According to ABC News, at most airports, you do not need to remove your shoes to go through TSA security! Starting July 12th, there will be less scrambling to slide your shoes and tie them while they’re rushing you through the line.

The original shoe removal policy began in 2006, which means it has been just under 20 years since you could keep your shoes on unless you were a TSA PreCheck Member.

Currently, it is only available at select airports, but they’re working on rolling out the new policy to all U.S. airports. You may still need to remove your shoes if you trigger the security scanners, but you will generally be able to keep them on.

Earlier this year, TSA started requiring REAL IDs or acceptable alternatives to fly through U.S. airports. So, while you’re checking on your ID, revel in the joy of not having to remove your shoes!

We’ve noticed a significant number of changes with the TSA recently that we haven’t seen in years, so we’ll continue to monitor for more changes. Be sure to follow us here at AllEars, as we bring you all the details to make your next travel adventure as perfect as possible.
