Even if you love to travel, chances are most of us can agree that flying can often be a bit of a nightmare.

You have to deal with packing, getting to the airport, dealing with security, boarding, and in extremely unfortunate cases — having less-than-ideal fellow passengers on your flight. You know the ones — they’re loud, obnoxious, and can seriously impact your trip. But, you’re not alone.
You’ve probably been there: ready to settle in and watch a movie or read a book, maybe even listen to a podcast on your long flight. You’ve even found a comfortable (ish) position and are ready to get to your destination. And then, suddenly, chaos erupts. It might be a disturbing sight, sound, or even smell — and you realize you’re on a flight with someone doing the worst thing imaginable.

We know the feeling, and apparently, so do a lot of folks. Let’s face it — flying isn’t always easy, and according to a new survey from YouGov, not everyone is on the same page about how “unacceptable” some of these behaviors are.
The survey polled Americans about “the acceptability of 30 potentially contentious behaviors by airline passengers,” and they found that there were a few behaviors that proved to be more divisive than others — like making a phone call, bringing a small dog on the flight, unbuckling seatbelts when the light isn’t on, and leaving the overhead light on when cabin lights are switched off.

Luckily, though, most folks tend to agree that some of these actions are just downright egregious. More than 80% of people polled agreed that it’s unacceptable for passengers to let their kids play in the aisle, get drunk, leave their seats during turbulence, and watch a movie or show without headphones.

Some other common bothers included things like leaving behind trash in the seatback pocket, using both armrests, eating strong-smelling food, and exiting the plane before the passengers in front of them.
Quite a few behaviors were deemed “okay” by those surveyed, like using a laptop on the tray table, waking up a seatmate to use the bathroom, and pushing the flight attendant call button to request refreshments.

What do you think? Do you agree with how most of the people surveyed voted? Over 50% of people aren’t cool with others bringing a cat on board, removing their shoes, not paying attention to the safety demonstration, and watching movies or shows with nudity in them. You can check out the sixteen most unacceptable plane behaviors in the chart below.
