Disney Has Cast Its Mr. Smee in 'Peter Pan & Wendy'

At Disney’s Investor Day presentation last year, we learned a ton about upcoming film and television projects, many of which will launch straight to Disney+.

One of those projects heading straight to Disney+ upon its release is Peter Pan & Wendy, set to star Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell, Jude Law as Captain Hook, Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, and Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling.

Now, we’re learning more about the rest of the cast, according to The Wrap.

It has been announced that stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan will play the role of Mr. Smee, the loyal but often unhelpful First Mate to Captain Hook. While Gaffigan is widely known for his comedy, The Wrap also notes that he has been recently seen in the films “Tesla,” “Troop Zero,” “American Dreamer” and “Light from Light.”

Other live action remakes heading to Disney+ in the coming years include Pinocchio starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto, as well as a prequel to Beauty and the Beast, which brings actors Luke Evans and Josh Gad back in the roles of Gaston and LeFou, respectively.
