‘Toy Story 5’ Had a Record-Breaking Opening Weekend

Toy Story 5 officially premiered in theaters a few days ago on June 19th.

The numbers from opening weekend are in, and it’s safe to say the newest Toy Story did VERY well!

According to BBC, on opening weekend, Toy Story 5 did over 300 million dollars in sales! Making it the highest-grossing opening weekend for the entire Toy Story franchise.

Across this first weekend, the movie earned 160 million in North America and 150 million internationally.

Toy Story 5 cost around 250 million to create, which means that Pixar is well on its way to turning a profit. Although that is not a major concern, considering that the majority of Pixar movies do extremely well at the box office.

We are not surpirsed to see Toy Story 5 doing so well. Not only does it have a loyal fan base, but Disney really hit the nostalgia marketing hard, leaving a lot of adults wanting to relive the Toy Story of their childhoods when they see this new film.
