Prices are rising all around, especially when it comes to ordering things online and having them shipped quickly to your door.

We’ve loved Amazon Prime for years, and many members of our team have memberships for years now, but with prices rising, is it still worth the cost? We’ve done a deep dive into it all — really looked at what services you get for paying extra, whether Amazon really follows through on those services, and asked members of our team if they feel the value they get is really worth it. We’ve put all our findings in one place, to help you decide if it’s right for you in 2026, but our vote? It’s DEFINITELY worth it!
The Quick Delivery
If you’re someone who finds yourself ordering things to your house pretty frequently instead of going to the store in person, the fast, free, and flexible delivery that Amazon Prime offers is already a perk that often makes the cost worth it. You can get basically ANYTHING you’d ever need on Amazon, and a lot of it is Amazon Prime eligible — groceries, workout equipment, vitamins, toys, books, and everything in between.

For many items, you can get Same-Day, One-Day delivery, or Two-Day delivery, ensuring you get your items quickly. Is there anything better than realizing last minute you need something for that evening, and being able to have it at your doorstep in a few hours? However, you can also select an Amazon Day to have all your deliveries scheduled to arrive on one day — sometimes you’ll even get a bonus incentive (usually $1-$3) for choosing Amazon Day instead of getting them ASAP.

You can also change your Amazon Day whenever you need to, which can be extra helpful if you’re out of town or won’t be home on your regularly scheduled day.
Let’s Talk Media!
By getting an Amazon Prime membership, you not only get access to fast, free delivery on hundreds of thousands of items, but you also get access to multiple different media services that are all included in your membership! This includes Amazon Video, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, Kindle First Reads, and Prime Gaming.

This alone can also be worth the cost if you’re someone who wants to keep all their streaming in one place, or you know you’ll get use out of these services. Imagine if you could cancel all your other streaming services and have it all in one place for one price. Now THAT’S a way to save money! Even if it means you can cancel 1-2 other services, it’ll help save you money and make it all easier to keep in one place.
Additional Savings and Deals
Prime Day is a great time that members can save on lots of items across tons of categories, but did you know there are also additional deals you can get year-round? Here’s just a glimpse at the other deals you can get!
- Savings on Amazon Fresh groceries
- Discounts at Whole Foods
- Early access to Lightning Deals online
- Free Grubhub+ (no service fees on delivery orders and credits on pick-up orders)
- Fuel discounts at participating gas stations
- Savings on prescriptions through Amazon Pharmacy

You can also get access to smart features like Alexa+ to help you when it comes to shopping, managing your home, and more.
Is It Worth It?
So, is it all worth it? Well, that’s up to you! If you were to put together the cost of all the different benefits you get from the membership, it would far outweigh the membership price you pay each year, making it logically totally worth it. However, if you don’t order a lot online (or prefer to go in person to stores), aren’t big into streaming, and don’t plan on taking advantage of the perks available, then this membership may not be the best for you.
