Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, the popular California Adventure attraction based on the uber-successful Marvel Studios films, is closing for refurbishment in March!

News of the previously unannounced closure was revealed at the end of January, when the attraction was added to Disneyland’s refurbishment calendar beginning on March 10th.
As of now, the attraction has no hours listed through March 12th, the furthest available date that the calendar goes out to as of this point. Disney has not presented any official timeline of the ride’s closure or clarified what — if any — changes are planned.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission BREAKOUT! opened to much fanfare (and some controversy) in 2017. The ride, Disney’s first major Marvel project in their American parks, replaced the California Adventure version of the Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror. In 2021, the attraction and its backstory were folded into the newly constructed Avengers Campus.

The attraction is built around Rocket Raccoon recruiting guests to help him rescue his fellow Guardians teammates from the clutches of the Collector himself, Taneleer Tivan.
According to Disney, the ride features “incredible special effects, appearances by popular characters, music inspired by the soundtracks from the movies, thrilling free-fall drop sequences and 6 different storylines to experience.”

Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT!, one of the Disneyland Resort’s most popular attractions, is closing for refurbishment in March. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on the length of this closure as it’s revealed.
